Veracious gives me my first Group 1 winner of 2019

I was delighted to land my first Group 1 winner of the season on Veracious in the Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket on Friday. Having hit the cross bar so many times this season, most notably in the Dubai World Cup and The Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot it was a big relief. It was a fantastic performance by Sir Michael Stoute and his team at home and hopefully this is the start of bigger and better things.
Mystery Power provided me with a Group 2 success in the Superlative Stakes on Saturday at Newmarket. He is a very talented son of No Nay Never and he has a big future. Richard Hannon has his team in excellent form at the moment so I thought he would have a great chance and so it proved.

Guildsman ran well on Thursday in the July Stakes. He travelled in snatches as he ground was pretty fast on a Thursday at Newmarket but I was pleased with him. He is a super horse though and hopefully we will see him at Goodwood and he can continue his progression. He is going to stay seven furlongs but perhaps six furlongs on soft ground is going to be his ideal conditions but reserve the faith.

Moving forward we have the King George a week on Saturday where I ride the Japanese horse Cheval Grand who should have a good chance. There is also lots to come towards the middle and backend of the season.
