Kameko wins the Vertem Futurity Stakes!

I have just landed in Japan and it is good to be back here for a few months. I love the racing and the people over here so I am delighted to have been invited to ride here again for their season.

I was thrilled with Kameko’s victory in the Group 1 Vertem Futurity Stakes at Newcastle on Friday night. He relaxed really well, travelled kindly and we have lots to dream about going forward. He could really be a top class horse and bearing in mind he is by the same sire as Roaring Lion (Kitten’s Joy) it could be an awesome story.

It was nice to ride another winner on the card at Newcastle as HMS President won for Eve but unfortunately I had no luck at Newmarket on Saturday. I thought Century Dream did nothing wrong in defeat but was unlucky to bump into one.

I am looking forward to getting off the mark here this weekend as I have ten rides each day so plenty going on and hopefully I have a winner or two.
