British Champions Day approaches!
I am really excited for Qipco British Champions Day on Saturday at Ascot. I ride Benbatl in the QE2 who was really impressive in the Joel stakes on his last start winning by 5 lengths. I’ve won two Group 1’s on him and he’s been fantastic horse for me.
Deidre runs in the Qipco British Championship Stakes. She wants top of the ground but hopefully they’ll move to the inside track where the ground will be much better. She’s a high class horse, she worked really nicely this morning, she should’ve finished much closer in the Qipco Irish Champions Stakes and she’s a super ride.
I ride the Tin Man again in the Champion Sprint, he’s been in great shape. He was a bit unlucky last start at Haydock when he stumbled out of the gate. James Fanshawe has done a fantastic job with him.
I ride Sparkle Roll and kick on for my boss Sheikh Fahad and Qatar Racing in the Fillies and Mare's and the Balmoral Handicap respectively. Military March gave me a nice feel when landing a Group 3, he's unbeaten in his 2 starts, both at newmarket, one over 7 furlongs when Hector Crouch rode him, I rode him over a mile the other day, he was 7 lengths back to the third, he's a really exciting horse for next year he's got loads of size and scope.
Dubai Souq won well on debut at Nottingham, she looks a nice Filly again loads of size and one that will definitely improve from 2 to 3.
It should be a great days racing and I am really looking forward to it.
