Doncaster reviewed....
I was really pleased with Wednesday and Thursday at Doncaster last week. Fox Tal and King’s Lynn of the Queen’s were impressive, I think they are both very exciting horses and Andrew’s horses continue in super form. Friday I had no luck at Doncaster but there was no real excuses and then Saturday Matterhorn ran a super race finished 2nd in the Group 2. Just Wonderful ran very well in the Matron Stakes to finish 3rd, Deidre was very unlucky not to finish closer in the Irish Champion stakes, she had no room up the straight and I had to switch to the outside and then on Sunday I rode at Longchamp and Momkin ran fine in a decent Group 3 and Annapurna jumped a little bit slowly and she got too far back and you’ll see her in better light on her next start.
Yesterday I was delighted to ride a treble at Kempton including two for Ed Walker whose horses are in good form. After that then it’s pretty ordinary stuff, Chepstow, Sandown and Yarmouth on Thursday. On Friday, Saturday I am more than likely at Newbury but we haven’t really discussed what’s running there yet so time will tell. I am really happy with how things are going and I’ve just got to keep finding fast horses!!!
