2021 Dubai World Cup!
Firstly condolences to the family of HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, he was a brilliant supporter of the Horse Racing Industry and he will be dearly missed.
This Saturday it is the 2021 Dubai World Cup at Meydan and I am really looking forward to the night it is one of the biggest individual race days of the year and one that all the best horses, jockeys, trainers and owners are all normally involved in. I have been lucky enough to win here before on Benbatl in the Dubai Turf.
I have five rides on Saturday night and I can’t wait for race day. It’s fantastic to be involved and it’s always a great spectacle. Mishriff is the highest rated horse in the world at the moment. He won the Saudi Cup on his last start on the dirt but he switches to turf for the Sheema Classic and I ride Loves Only You in the race. She is a Japanese Oaks winner, she won a Grade 2 on her last start and I have been riding her in her track work and she seems in really good form.
Royal Marine runs in the Dubai Gold Cup and it seems an open race this year. I won a Group 1 on Royal Marine over a mile as a two year old and his work has been really good. Two miles is going to be a question mark but hopefully he relaxes and I am glad to be partnering him again as it’s been a long time.
Hopefully I can get a winner and then I look forward to the 2021 flat season ahead back home!
